Welcome to West Coast Digital Gurus, a Concord, California based technical training, consultation and services business. My name is Doug Wu, as the “head guru” my goal is to empower our clients through technical education and the implementation of basic computer, communications and web technologies. I have found that the nature of the technology industry is such that clients rely on us for trusted and valuable advice, because most users are largely unaware of not only how to implement and manage technology but even what technology can do for them. By teaching clients to become technically literate, they become more educated and effective consumers, as well as users of technology. In today’s economy it is increasingly important for individuals and organizations to become more independent and effective in their use of technology, as the result is either found in the cost-savings or greater levels of value, whether that value is realized as profit, a higher quality product or service, or more exposure.
As a small business owner myself of the past decade, I have found that most smaller organizations and businesses all go through similar struggles. Everybody needs a web presence today. It’s almost impossible to run even a small business without a computer, if not a network and multiple computers. Between dealing with e-mail attachments, creating and managing a web site, implementing a data disaster recovery plan, or ridding your computers of nasty viruses – many business owners can get lost and confused as to how to manage their IT needs.
